MIAMASKA FAQ

What do you use to make the comic?

I currently use Adobe Photoshop CC 2015 for all the visual aspects of the comic, though I believe I started the comic with Photoshop CS3. The script is written in Google Docs. I use a ten-year-old Wacom Intuos 3 tablet that refuses to give up the ghost.

How can I support the comic?

There is now a Patreon for both of my comics! You can get rewards like wallpapers and bonus side comics, or even monthly year-round commissions. You can also donate to me directly via paypal (awisreu@gmail.com) or wait for me to open up personal commissions every few months. Also consider following the official tumblr, facebook, and twitter and telling others about the comic!

Why is there a time gap in updates? What’s going on with all these bonus pages? What’s up with the scheduling?

Sometimes I need to go on hiatus to attend to Real Life Responsibilities, and as the comic doesn’t exactly bring in much income it gets hard to justify the amount of time I spend on it. Excessive bonus page posting is a result of me having slightly more time on my hands than usual, but without the certainty of permanent scheduling.

Is there a printed version of the comic I can buy? Artbook? Posters, even?

Not yet, though I’d like to make some eventually. Currently, the interest level for a printed version is too low to me to set aside hours for making that version. I’d like to make posters someday, but I don’t feel confident enough in my composition skills to come up with an interesting enough design at the moment.

Any advice for the beginner webcomicker?

Make a plan, a buffer, and a consistent schedule. Keep in mind if you want feedback, it can take months for an audience to develop. Once you have a momentum going, don’t drop it. And don’t sweat it if your art or writing isn’t perfect-- skill comes with practice and making a weekly webcomic can give you the long-term experience for developing those techniques. Trust yourself!
